SECUREPIM USES CALLKIT TO IDENTIFY CALLERS ON IPHONES

Munich, 21 September 2017 – SecurePIM, the “container solution” for the secure operation of mobile terminal devices in businesses is now able to identify incoming calls thanks to the integration of the iOS Framework CallKit.

Thanks to the integration of the iOS Framework CallKit, SecurePIM can now automatically check callers’ ID against the company’s internal contacts directory. In this manner, SecurePIM can ensure that the company’s contacts directory remains strictly segregated from the users’ iPhones’ general contact lists.

Incoming calls from contacts listed in SecurePIM are displayed on the device’s lock screen. Moreover, calls from SecurePIM contacts are shown in the call history.

Until now, in order to identify a caller, the names and phone numbers of contacts had to be manually exported from the secure container to the iOS device’s phonebook. As a result, these data were also accessible to other apps (e.g. WhatsApp), and they could not be deleted remotely by the company’s IT department if a device was lost, for instance. Thanks to the integration of CallKit, callers can now be identified without their information having to be previously exported from the secure container to the iOS device’s address book – which represents greater data security and protection.

SecurePIM’s version v7.41.3 also supports iOS 11’s new functions.

“Thanks to the integration of CallKit, we have improved the user-friendliness of an important aspect of our solution,” explains Günter Junk, CEO of Virtual Solution AG in Munich. “iPhone users do not have to choose between security and convenience: they can always stay secure.”
